Definitely not as good as the first in the series but the tigers are fun creatures and a deeper glimpse into the worlds lore is cool

A really beautiful story that centers around the power of feminine rage and women scorned with a beautiful mythical background that the author gives you just enough of a glimpse of to keep you wanting more

Not entirely sure how I feel about this book yet. Definitely has Howl’s Moving Castle and Ancient Magus Bride meets Uprooted vibes. It lost me somewhere around the middle and the love story could have been either ditched or more fleshed out, but the epilogue really did something for me in the end. Would read a second book about Leska’s apprentice

Objectively one of the most boring books I’ve come across. 

Almost DNF’d at 10% and then kept coming across people on Reddit talking about how much they love it so picked it up again. 

The most intriguing part of this entire book is in act one when out FMC Abigail meets the MMC, Valroy disguised as an old man. 

After that he reveals that he’s the king of the Unseelie, traps her in a maze, and nothing at all happens again except some extreme sexual tension between the two main characters. Sure, she tries to “solve the maze” and it’s painfully obvious that Valroy is a ripoff from Jarrett from the Labyrith but like…while she’s doing that does the plot actually advance? 0% 

If you want plot this book is not for you. If you just want an ambiguously gray shadow daddy who says some ludicrously sexual things then give it a try

The freshest book I’ve read in a while! 

Love the Nordic vibes and the audiobook narrator really set it off with her accent. 

I can’t wait to find out what happens to Freya in Nordeland now that she knows she’s Hal’s child, that Bjorn is a liar, and his mother is alive!!

Super long and not much happened until act 3. 

There’s a bit of a love triangle that shakes out and it’s then clear that Lin will end up with the prince and kel with antonetta. The author cleans up the problem of engaging the prince to a child by killing her and Lin falsely claims to be a goddess at the end. That’s all that really happened
