A very interesting collection of texts inspired by medieval poems from Britain. I found particularly interesting the fact that we had a fictionalised text inspired by those poems written by Amy Jeffs, followed by explanations on the inspiring poem and other sources.

Amy Jeffs has a very nice writing style, both for the scholarly aspects and the more prose-like stories. The only flaws would be the few additions of log-like entries sharing adventures of hers, as well as how short it was. It often felt like I was barely getting into the text and chapter that it was ending already.

[Read in French]

It was an interesting book with a good premise to put a parallel between the fates of those four "lost" cities (Catal Huyuk, Pompéi, Angkor and Cahokia) along with our current political instability and climate crisis.

It's a shame it often felt surface-level and not much in depths when it came to the actual archeological resources and research. Very little was said on the main topic: the desertion of these cities. (And I truly hate the log style of that book at times)

Other than that, it's neither good nor bad, and I learned very little on Angkor and Cahokia (I was already familiar in great details with both Catal Huyuk and Pompéi) but it did its intended job.

It was an amazing comics to go over Nina Simone's life and I fluence in the fight against segregation. I appreciated the many informative pages, but it's a shame the actual comic's part was so reduced as a consequence.

An inspiring figure.
