This was really enjoyable!
I expected the plot twist in the sense that one of them was still alive because i felt that if the suspect was either Jack or Noah that that would be too predictable. I didn’t expect the Lindsay twist tho! I even thought for a brief moment that the anonymous person was Clarie, but the anonymous Pov was written in a way that I thought it was a boy talking.

I actually REALLY REALLY enjoyed this! Couldn’t put the book down. While reading it I thought the answer was pretty obvious but THAT PLOT TWIST THOUGH!! Didn’t see that coming at all.

Would definitely recommend.

WHAT THE HECK WAS THIS BOOK!!!!!! Who did Adanna offend for crying out loud?!!!!!!! This book was so dark. Wasn’t really expecting that! (domestic violence, rape, etc) Akanna is the devil himself! Don’t get me started on Chief too! The only tolerable people were the house workers, and Naeto (plus a few others. Emphasis on FEW)

All that to say, this book was so well written!

Wow. I felt gaslighted throughout this whole book😭
I honestly didn’t know who to believe. I suspected one person but was like that’s too bait, so I suspected the other one but still wasn’t 100% sure

I was hooked while reading the whole book but the plot twist fell a little flat in my opinion. Also, WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?! Bruh…

Would still 100% recommend!

I don’t know what rating to give this book actually.

I did however have a good time reading this book. This isn’t a book with an abrupt plot twist, but instead one that builds up and adds to the story and I found that very interesting. The topic of organized religion is one of the prevailing themes, and reading it as a person who has a relationship with God makes me sad because its people like Dawodu that paints christanity in a bad light. Moral Lesson: don’t put your trust in man but in God Himself, cause man will fail you but God never fails.

Also, idk if it’s just me but the feel of the book didn’t really give me Nigerian vibes. While reading i kept on forgetting that it was based in Nigeria, but maybe it’s cause we are reading it from the main character POV who was previously UK based? 🤷🏽‍♀️

I also really liked the subplot of the whole Lara situation. Plus Folake is an absolute girlboss!

I rate books overall on enjoyability and vibes, and this book had both! And more!

I personally feel it was giving ‘Ace of Spades’ (a book by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé) vibes which I absolutely loveddd.

I lowkey wished the ending was more psychological, if you know what i mean. Still a lil bit confused on the milk man situation though.

All in all would definitely recommend this book!
