This was a fast paced enjoyable read. On a thriller scale i’d give it a 3.75. I flew through this book and was throughly engaged, and I must say I did enjoy the plot twists, but it just felt like something was missing. It didn’t have that gasp worthy element.

Plus that epilogue was really something! 😳

Either way I would totally recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Do with that information what you will.

This was actually a really good book. So close to four stars, but it’s missing a little something.

Firstly, I found it hard to get into the story. I wasn’t eager to finish it, do you get? It was kinda like a spare book that I just carried around with me. Good enough for a sneak read here and there, but not good enough for me to binge read.

Secondly, the animals mentioned like the deathshrieks and ixa, I had a really hard time imagining them. I imagine the deathshrieks as giant cockroaches with dinosaur arms😭 Is that how they are supposed to look like? I don’t know…maybe it’s just me who feels this way

Thirdly, THE ROMANCE DIDN’T DO IT FOR ME. Yes there were some swoon worthy parts, but the chemistry and tension wasn’t there. Maybe it would develop in the second book.

I did really enjoy the whole concept of sisterhood and femininity! Needless to say, I’d still be reading the next book. And not just cause I already bought it before finishing the first book🤫

I chose this book cause the storyline sounded interesting, but what I didn’t sign up for is for me to cry my eyes out😭
The author really makes you fall in love with both guys. Cause why are they the most loving, understanding, and caring men ever?!

“True love doesn’t always last. It doesn’t have to be for a lifetime, [but] that doesn’t mean it’s not true love.”

“Now I wonder if grief isn’t something like a shell. You wear it for a long time and then one day you realize you’ve outgrown it”

“I am who I am because I loved you once.“

Tell me why these quotes (among others) had me bawling. I can’t even😭

A cute read. Touched on some pretty heavy topic for a YA book (guns, stalking, near death experiences).

Reading this made me realize that I love the ‘enemies to lovers’ part of a story and not technically the ‘lovers’ aspect😭 I loved the tension between Bailey and Porter when they were still enemies (me giggling to myself at 3am🤭)
Overall was a pretty decent read.

I don’t think a rating is even appropriate or adequate for this book.

It was a ride reading about Jennette’s experience as a child actor with her over-bearing mother, eating disorders and addiction. It was really a lot! And I’m so proud of her for how far she’s come.

I grew up watching most of the shows mentioned in her book, and the fact that other kid’s happy memories with the show is a nightmare for her is truly baffling and heart wrenching.

Tearssss!!!
I’m still crying as I write this. I loved the friendship and connection between the whole friend group.
The ending made my heart ache!

I only read this book because I heard it was a sad ending….and it really was.

I can’t believe the author wrote this when they were 16. WHAT?!

The story really pulls you in. I was so eager to know how it ends.

This is one of the best cases of an ‘unreliable narrator’ that I’ve read so far, though I felt like the ending wasn’t really satisfying and still left me with a lot of questions. This book would have been a 5 star read if not for the ending, but other than that, this book was brilliant!
Would definitely recommend.

Yes! Yes! Yes! A solid 4 stars!

I felt so attached and connected to the characters the same way the MC did. I really liked the tension you felt from the story and their experience in the woods. Mehn, I really suspected everyone, including the dog at one point (just joking😂). I have to admit, the reveal wasn’t what I was expecting but I’m able to look past that cause I enjoyed every other aspect.

Would definitely recommend this book!
