Was expecting more of the twist ending with all that build up but the reveals felt staggered strangely? Still a cool idea & really liked the mythology hints along the way. Also just shitty men gettin’ what’s comin’ to em. 😈

The audio book version is a must. I loved the horror concept of a “The Bachelor” style show going off the walls, but was disappointed the ending was just kind of meh? There’s no explanation for the  “big reveal” at the end, but a fun read regardless. If you like bad/catty reality TV & hot gossip you’ll enjoy.

Hard to review so many stories at once but not a single one made me wanna skip ahead. The one where a woman performs a psychological experiment on her husband & the wendigo story will probably give me nightmares.

The story was a little too drawn out but loved the action. A bachelorette trip going creepily, insanely wrong is a fun thriller concept & I appreciated how different all the characters felt because there are a lot of them. I guessed the “twist” but wasn’t annoyed by it because theres so many surprises along the way & the audio book narrator I found on Libby killed it.

I went into this blind & loved it. The nearly all female characters young and old were all so unique & interesting. The plot is WILD despite having an idea of where it was heading being related to the Klan - a couple chapters in, no you don’t. The supernatural elements were messy in a good way, not too much over explaining. The world building was so cool too! Will definitely read again!

This was a fun thrill & would make a great horror movie, especially with the well timed disturbing reveals. Kind of Texas Chainsaw Massacre family vs. tourists vibe? The set up is a little boring but once the first terrible thing happened on The Island I was hooked & the pay off is very satisfying.

I don’t understand the hype on this book, it’s so slow and the pay off is anti-climatic. Maybe theres some build up lost in translation? The magic system/school is interesting but confusing to follow and after all those pages I still didn’t care about the main character enough at the “final battle” to be excited.

This series is so strange & bleak but it keeps me coming back for more. The art is really interesting and theres just so much going on but also very little happens? Read the TW’s beforehand, it’s cover and silly little bird shaped characters are misleading on purpose. I like that the characters grow older with each volume!

Everyone should make a point to seek out banned books & this one was so informative and real. I’m happy to not only have access to this private piece of Maia for perspective, but now the ability to pass it along to a young person questioning parts of their being that have little representation in the future.

Cool retro 70’s style, not very thrilling. Caught me off guard how dark the plot gets so quickly - very Lord of the Flies.
