Review for Why Won’t My Boobs Grow by Rebecca Garner! (The word boob being on my page now has me giggling like an immature jr high kid 🤣)
Middle grade fiction is not something I typically read, but when I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook in exchange for a review, I went for it! @rebeccagarner_author does an AMAZING job narrating Emma’s story!
This book took me right back to awkward teen years, but especially years 12-14 🥴 All I thought about was boys and the zits on my face 😂 You guys, this story had me thinking back on all the cringey things I did as a teen, like staring straight at my crush for an entire class period with no self awareness that he and everyone else saw me staring 🥲 Cringe teen behavior aside, I found this story to also capture the tumble of emotions that is a growing teenager’s mind. I honestly love teenagers, even now. I think they’re amazing and when given a little breathing room to figure some life out, they’re not as bad as most would say. Just a little confused and misunderstood 90% of the time.
This book would be a great read if you’ve got a tween/teen entering that pubescent phase! Thanks again, Rebecca for the read!! 😍
This was a really sweet romantic book! Sophia is reeling from grief and being a caretaker. She’s learning how to find herself when she gets the chance to go on a date with her favorite soap opera star after winning a charity auction. Leo is a retired soap star with two tween twin daughters. He’s devoted to casual relationships until Sophia wins the date he donates to a charity auction. It’s a sweet insta love connection!
Spark, Glow, and Heat of the Freaking Everflameeee 🔥
I finished Heat today and I was SHOOKETH. Y’all this is officially my all time favorite series! Penn Cole is an amazing writer and deserves all the success in the world.
Why you should read it:
🔥 Diem Bellator is the ultimate protagonist! Not only is she naturally kind and caring (without it being annoying), she’s also simultaneously strong-willed, determined, and powerful. A character where these traits co-exist? Sign. Me. Up.
🔥 Luther Corbois. I have never read so many highlight worthy quotes from a single character in my life. “You forget the conditions I’ve seen you in. I know how easily your beauty shines through.” *SWOON* If Diem ever doesn’t want him, I volunteer as tribute 🙋🏼♀️
🔥Taran Corbois. This fluffy marshmallow needs to be saved because he is PRECIOUS. I adored the banter between him and Diem.
🔥Sorae. I never thought I could love a flying mythical creature like I love Abraxos, but this sweet gryvern is right there with him. I low key cross series ship them 😆
So many others I could mention! I just can’t say enough how much I love it! 🔥❤️
I did not expect to love this book as much as I did! It has fun tropes of workplace romance and age gap (she’s older). The story was so sweet! The banter and wit was unmatched. It was also closed door, so spice wasn’t even half a pepper which was perfect for me. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a rom com pallet cleanser!
Such a sweet second chance romance!! Jessica is forever on out an auto buy author for me! ♥️ I read 95% of this book on audio and read the last several chapters in the actual book. The audiobook narrator did a fantastic job!
This was such a cute read! The magical realism and ease of this story was just what I needed! Sometimes books don’t need to be deep to be impactful. I appreciated the lessons we learn from Elsy’s time in Aloraton. My only struggle mainly surrounded the chemistry between Elsy and Anders. I did not end this book feeling like they were a lifetime happily ever after. However, sometimes the love stories that don’t end in that HEA are what set us on the path towards the real one. So maybe in the non-existent sequel in my mind, they are exactly what the other needs for the time.
Cute read and would recommend if you need an easy, relaxing story to lose yourself in!
I tried. I really really tried. I think the story is an incredibly cute concept and I wanted so badly to love it. However, I struggled with the POV switches and the pacing. If the POV/past experiences had been a bit more clear upon starting the chapter that would’ve made it so much easier to get through.
My first ever Kristin Hannah novel did not disappoint! I rated 4.5 stars because it took a little longer to get into than I would’ve liked, but it’s worth reading!
