“If it is order that you value, then I will bring you nothing but chaos.”

Oh. My. Goodness. This book had me on my toes, and the ending completely bamboozled me. It was one of those I'm sitting on the edge of my seat while reading the last couple chapters.

If you like enemies to lovers, touch her and die, age gap tropes this is your book.

I blew through this book much quicker than I anticipated. I love that the FMC truly thinks of her subjects and is willing to do whatever necessary to protect them. My heart broke for her that they don't seem to realize her sacrifice. When she is introduced to Adrian and his subjects it's only then she starts to really learn the truths of what has happened in the past. This book shows us that sometimes the people we believed to be monsters were the hero's all along.

The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is I felt like the ending was rushed. That said I would definitely reread it as well as recommend it! The sequel "Queen of Myth & Monsters" is already out as well. I found out Barnes & Noble has an exclusive version with an extra chapter!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ALL OF THE STARS
My #1 read of 2023

“I’ll always choose you. In every story,” he said out loud, not a whisper. Not a whisper at all. “That will never change.”

I just want to start out by saying Nicole's writing has utterly and completely ruined me. She doesn't just write books, she fully immersed you into another world. Her writing is so detailed that you feel everything the characters are going through.

In the second book of the Tales of Weeping Hollow series we follow Adora as she struggles to find balance between her coven, family, and following her heart. I loved getting to see a new side to Adora and also better understand her motives.

Stone the MMC is stoic, kind, and completely swoon-worthy. He has encountered a lifetime of tragedy but this doesn't break him. He's light and darkness all in one. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've read 10 books since reading Bone Island and Stone is still my book daddy.

I'm going to start this review by saying there were some great plot twists in this book. I was floored by the ended, I did not see it coming at all. The reason for it being two stars mostly has to do with me not meshing with the characters. I was not a fan of Caelum at all. He uses the phrase "little one" for the FMC and it just gave me the ick. I did however really like Estrella the FMC. Even with her horrible past she is strong, fierce and loyal! That being said just because I rated it three stars does not mean it isn't a good book, the writing was amazing. I just didn't mesh with Caelum.

I loved how raw and honest this story was. There was literally no sugar coating in it, it was just a sad situation all around. I loved the character development as well as the storyline and how it played out.

I've read many comments talk about how the MMC is narcissistic, while reading this I got the vibe that he had trauma he had not worked through. Turns out I was right. My reason for giving it three stars is I did not care for either of the main characters. I also didn't like her brother, she's an adult yet he's so overprotective of her. It was a little weird.

I'm going to be honest I did not enjoy this book while reading it initially. I opted to do the romantic reading order AND THATS MY FAULT. If I had read Assassins Blade first so much more of the book would have made sense. Having finished AB I have a newfound love of this book. Caelenas attitude makes so much more sense, as well as the walls she had up. Don't make the same mistake as me read this book second and AB first!

The first thing I have to mention is Chaol is a shit friend. He claims to be Dorians best friend yet he ends up dating the woman he had feelings for? I don't think Chaol is a bad person but his whole attitude this book bothered me. I know he's captain of the royal guard but it's annoying that he doesn't have a single thought for himself, like all he does is what others tell him.

I loved Caelena in this novel and getting to see part of her old life come out. One of my favorite things about Caelena is that she is tough yet kind. You will see that side of her in this novel where as ToG was mostly her just trying to get ahead.
