At times, it was difficult to understand what was going on in the book. I recommend watching the series to fully understand the story.

This might just be me, but I don't appreciate his constant anger and discontent, even when he does nothing about it. This book was meant to capture the teenage experience, but I couldn't relate to this at all. This protagonist is just terrible.

This was a beautiful work depicting the author’s life in the Bay of Pigs invasion and the effect of Castro’s actions. I loved that she wrote in poetry.

I love that there was a surprise factor to the book. It might just be me, but I didn’t really find it scary. It is a beautiful story and I will love it for many years to come.
