An invigorating, amusing, hopeful read for anyone who likes to read about others doing science as an adventure. I’ve really loved it.

The focus is not on the character-building, but they are decently written, and some minor twists really added to the experience. I think the book lost a bit of its momentum towards the end, but the actual ending is quite enjoyable.

The translation is superb!

The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester

Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
You hear ‘powerful/dangerous man’ and you can be sure there will be rape. Alas, there it is, just for the fun of it. (not even important for the story)

This book might be a classic, but for me it’s so cliche and crude that I can’t find any enjoyment in it.

I’ve loved this book!

Informative, on the point, precise and also humorous.

My only woe is that even with the update in 2012, parts of the content are getting obsolete - but the practical parts are still applying to the field.

An interesting read for any cyclist who has some interest in sport history. The language is quite archaic, with all the good and bad this brings.

I really liked this one. It’d be a wonderful read for any beginners interested in birdwatching, pigeons or urban ecosystems, and it holds  information even for the more seasoned readers. The illustrations are whimsy and clever, and the whole book is accessible and handy. I recommend it!
