Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
4.0
For a book that was a required read for my english class I thoroughly enjoyed it! The characters were compelling and I love how Sepetys explores the idea of family and the different forms it comes in. I usually hate romance for romances sake but the relationship between Jonana and Florian was pretty tolerable for a book about the atrocities of WII. It was an easy read for me and I found myself flying through it with it's short chapters, if I didn't have to keep pace with the class I wouldve read the entire thing in a day. I will say that the pacing was kind of weird though, the first half of the book drags a bit and the ending felt a tad rushed. It could have done a better job with the epilouge too, but other than that this was a good read! 4/5 stars :)
