I read this book in only one day. Some hours to be quite honest. I had a lot of expectations and I'm glad to say that this book didn't disappoint me. It's full of suspense, the story is told perfectly and it doesn't allow the reader to stop reading.
The only low point is about the creatures; I was expecting a better description, but unfortunately it was not given. I had to imagine them with poor elements and I gave up quickly.
What made my eyes be a bit watery was the end, when the main character gives the two kids a name. A very touch-y moment.

Pensavo che avrei trovato qualcosa di più riguardo il genocidio in Rwanda del '44, piuttosto che una semplice infarinatura dal punto di vista confuso di un bambino. Ci sono accenni molto veloci della vita in quel posto e in quegli anni, ma dalle recensioni che ho letto mi aspettavo di più. Non posso dire che non mi sia piaciuto, perché mentirei, ma sicuramente non è una lettura che consiglierei a chi, come me in questo caso, vorrebbe avvicinarsi a una letteratura diversa, alla storia di una parte del mondo non completamente apprezzata né conosciuta, perché povero di informazioni concrete. Ed è un peccato, perché le premesse c'erano tutte, altrimenti non penso che avrei scelto di leggerlo.
