The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
5.0
TROPES: forced relationship, force proximity, arranged relationship
Before this, I read the kiss quotient and absolutely loved it! The bride test is right along side it! When I first started reading the bride test, I didn’t realize that this was the second book in the series! Although you can read all of the books as a standalone! :)
Esme, the first mc, character development was absolutely amazing and made me fall in love with her character. She is a mixed girl which comes with a lot of struggles considering where she lives. She was bullied because of it and it has stuck with her especially as she moves to America. There she experiences new adventures and new people like Khai Diep.
Khai Diep, the second mc, has autism and thinks he doesn’t feel love which was triggered by something in his past. He’s a hermit and isn’t looking for love until he sees Esme. At first he is not pleased with her but soon he starts feeling things that he’s not quite sure what they are….

TROPES:kinda fake dating and a bit of insta love
(these tropes i usually don’t go for but helen hoang executed them so well! even if you don’t like these tropes, you’ll still love the book!]
I just started getting into contemporary romance and this was in my opinion, the best book to start with. I enjoyed how we dived into the plot right away and didn’t drag it on. Stella was a lovable character and Michele was right behind her. I love how Michele didn’t get that she had autism and probably wouldn’t have till his cousin told him! Overall it was a wholesome book with spice of course ;). BUT LOTS OF FLUFF AS WELL.
I can definitely see myself reading this book over and over again front to back! can’t wait to read the other books by helen hoang and hopefully i can find similar books! :)

Beach Read by Emily Henry
5.0
This is the first Emily Henry book I have ever read and it was a great pick! This book is way more than a romance book with lots of fluff. It has scenes that will make you sob until you have no tears left. (at least that was how it felt for me)
I was drawn to this book immediately when I read that January and Augustus (the romantic pairing) were both authors. I did not know that was in my interests until I picked up this book!
January is a lovable character and I think we can all see ourselves in her…especially since all romance readers are hopeless romantics. ;) She experiences hardships and has impactful scenes that will make you sob (at least i did).
Augustus was also a lovable character and great male lead/love interest. He wasn’t like a typical love interest that was the complete opposite of January. Instead he was like January in many ways but experienced too much lost that he didn’t shine as bright as she did.
The pace of this book was well done and I didn’t feel like the relationship was rushed. So many beautiful words were said in this book that I will definitely look back at for years to come. I can see myself re-reading this book from front to back, which is why I give it 5 stars.
P.S
if you’re a fan of taylor swift, I would read this book because it has some cute scenes with a reference to a particular music video ;)
