This book absolutely did not live up to expectations 😭 I read it because I really enjoyed Leena Norms' videos on marriage and motherhood, and she has recommended the book a few times. It was long-winded and exhausting to read. I switched to the audio book midway and still zoned out for a lot of it. There are a few insightful paragraphs scattered throughout the book, but most of it was too philosophical and self-absorbed. The narrator goes in circles about her thoughts on motherhood, her partner is insufferable, and they both sound like they could use therapy (individual and couples') and childfree friends, instead of people who make them feel bad about their choices. Idk, I'm in my twenties, have a uterus, and no desire to have kids. To me it doesn't make sense to agonize over it so much. Also, I don't have specific examples because I rushed through the book, but it felt *very* white feminist adjacent, and not relatable at all for most other folks.
