Earthflown by Frances Wren

Earthflown was a delightful book to read. I was thoroughly engrossed in every page.

We follow our three main characters, Ethan, Javier and Oliver in an alternate dystopian london.

There’s a lot going on in this book but it never got confusing. I loved it from start to finish.

Oliver is absolutely insufferable yet his chapters were always sooo interesting. I still wanted to punch him though.

The relationship between Ethan and Jav was so sweet and written so well. No miscommunication trope in sight and I loved it.

My main dislike in the book though is the time jumps that happen. We miss vital character and relationship development simply by having a lot of time jumps.

The book didn’t really wrap up cleanly. With an obvious sequel planned even though it is a standalone. I would of liked for more answers to questions I have.

Overall Earthflown is a very compelling novel and very interesting premise. It’s hard to describe the plot without giving too much away. So I recommend going in mostly blind and just have a good time.

Ok, nothing monumental happened for 300 pages
But god I did enjoy reading this

It’s quintessential Cassandra Clare just in an adult fantasy setting obviously I was going to eat this up

Objectively there’s much better high fantasy out there. I still had a great time and actually liked the characters a lot.
