The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

Solidly entertaining ending to a good trilogy. The characters that seemed completely despicable and inhuman became loved and understood. Black has a seriously good way of writing characterization arcs. A bit sappy and dramatic at times, but nonetheless am I happy to read and own this particular series.

It was a bit predictable, but the world building was nice. I will finish the rest of the series because I’m stubborn, but I’m hoping it all becomes less predictable and the writing tropes improve.

Once I start a series, I have to finish. Good twists and tension. Writing still not my favorite, but I will finish what I start.

I’m a sucker for a plus-size FMC, and add in the Scottish accent in my mind while reading made this quick romance read worthwhile. Predictable. Repetitive. Spicy. It was sappier than I enjoy, but I’m sure there’s many looking for just that in a book.

I blame Instagram excerpts that sucker me into interesting sounding stories that are way more unreal and infuriatingly so. That said, I can’t DNF any book or series, so I was compelled to read the second. Overall, spicy and interesting character developments. Also, why are more and more FMCs redheads-ish? I’m here for it, but it’s a interesting trend I’m noticing.

Agreeing with most other reviews, this book felt more like filler and a bit repetitive, especially in character dialogue. Regardless, I read it and am eagerly awaiting the final book release to see how all this wraps up (or doesn’t…)

Hades and Persephone - basically a tale as old as time. Honestly, way too spicy for my taste with this storyline. I wish characters were more developed and the actually plot storyline had more to it.

Honestly, this book was significantly better than the first. I like spice, but the first book was more spice than anything else. The second book had actual character development, a more intricate plot, and a storyline that was very compelling. At this point, this is yet another series I am now waiting on a book release, and I’m not a patient person. February come sooner!!

Meh. It was another book I read a clip of on Instagram and I refuse to DNF things. It wasn’t the best storyline, but the characterization was decent at points. Good read about trust and mistrust. Definitely too red flag heavy for some.
