The second book in this series is in my opinion even better than the first one. If you liked the first one, this is definitely a must read. It packs even more very interesting ideas than the first one and gives you a lot to think about.

Further review with spoilers:

The whole book is based around the countdown until trisolaris reaches the earth. This gives everything a sense of urgency and creates a nice paces, where you feel with the characters and their fear of running out of time. Introducing wallfacers was a very interesting choice as it will leave you always wondering if you know their real intentions. Still, you will probably be suprised a few times.

Also, without spoiling, the End is simply brilliantly solved.

For me, this is one of the best modern science fiction novels and the start to a great series. It combines incredible world building in an unusual setting with great and unexpected twists and a very interesting scientific / mathematical background. The book starts of slowly and in the beginning I was a little bit lost and I was wondering where the story is supposed to go. But you should really keep going - it's very much worth it. As the story develops you'll encounter a lot of unexpected twists which will keep you on the edge of your seat.
