I'm glad to be finished with this book. The first 2/3 were difficult to get through at points. I am usually a fan of women characters that are socially awkward or inept, but Park's actions and behaviors are so frustrating for the early part of the book, especially as she is the ship's psychologist and is stated to be so good at reading others' microexpressions that she could predict their next sentence before they said it. But we see her do this maybe twice, and outside of that she is constantly clueless (and is also not good or helpful at anything else). The only reason I made it through the early part of the book was her interatction with the androids and the chapters of her childhood, which I loved. When I reached the final third of the book I couldn't put it down and came to like Park a lot more.
