Taking a medal on my 'books that were so good up until the final act' list, it's Circe. Why that was the ending Madeline Miller went with I will never understand, and I will always be disappointed by. Welcome to the 3.75 void.

I'm so sorry to all the girlies out there weeping over this, but to me this was a deeply mid book. Achilles death and a brief passage of description were the only bits that really stood out to me; I disliked Patroclus as our POV, he felt incredibly passive and uninteresting, and overall this just didn't stand out to me.

It is perhaps notable that of all the books Neil Gaiman has had a hand in that I have read, this one is by far and away my favourite...All this to say I know who wrote the parts of GO that I really enjoyed, and spoiler alert, it wasn't Gaiman.
I enjoyed GO, but it's not really a reread type of book for me, so it shall remain in the 3.75 purgatory

Oh hey it's my comfort novel. P&P for me is the perfect book to read by a fire in winter.
