Okay, so first of all, I was really excited to read this book. Hilary Duff wrote it so, I thought "Lets give it a shot. Sounds great and maybe this teen idol of mine has some secret talents". Yeah, no. Who gave you this bright idea to write a novel (Better yet, a trilogy of novels!)?

The way it was written was like it was a grocery list so to say. Every single sentence sounded so monotone and dull which made the characters even more dislike able. The plot while sounded good, lacked everything it promised to be. I expected some fast paced adventure that really grasped my attention but, like, I don`t know what went wrong. I honestly believe Hilary wrote this all on her own because its just that terrible.

And now we get to our protagonist: Clea Raymond. This girl isn`t even an original. By the way she was introduced into the beginning, I was like This girl is having some serious issues. But no, I think the problem really was that it just wasn`t something new. Like, I`ve read books with characters who are almost identical to Clea. It just all started to sound vaguely familiar. I couldn`t connect with her on any level. She seemed Lifeless . I just didn`t like her.

Time for the ROMANCE!:

So, she meets this average dark and mysterious guy, Sage, and oh my goodness. This dude is no different from any other of the hot paranormal fictional guys I read before. The only true difference was that he had no character, no personality. None whatsoever! And the fact that him and Clea hooked up in the backseat of a fucking car just really made me dislike the characters even more. He reminded me of Damen (Was his name Damen?) from The Immortals but was more of an asshole. I really, really fucking hated the romantic plot line of the story with a passion. It lacked chemistry and really overall just sucked.

This made me feel like I was reading an combination of Twilight and The Immortals with some Pretty Little Liars thrown in. Someone should seriously consider trying to get this book off of bookshelves. I cannot believe there are TWO MORE IN THIS TRILOGY ! Just WTF?! To be honest, I`d rather read LC`s book L.A. Candy again. At least her characters had some personality.

Alas, it just wasn`t satisfying and I never want to see this book again.
