I eyed this book on bookstore shelves for years before finally buying it, and it somehow held up to 3 years of waiting. This book is incredible - a finely-tuned tension machine, with no dead air or wasted words. I'll be thinking about this one for a long time.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 11%.
This is the most poorly written, boring book I've ever read. I tried to read it to fall asleep & got too annoyed mentally copyediting it to sleep. I genuinely got lost in run on sentences & confused by inconsistencies from page to page. And the ham-fisted Stephen King references!! I made it to the sentence "The girl who loved Tom Gordon" & gave up.
