The stars don't lie! I started this book hopeful that the 4.22 average rating wouldn't disappoint, and it did not. If you love thrillers with plot twists that leave you smiling, then this one is for you. I'm giving this 4 .5 🌟  because it kept me guessing and left me happy.

OMG, I enjoyed this book SO much. I loved quirky Millicent and all of her random crazy. The friendship between Milli and Mrs. Nash was so sweet and tender (even though we only heard about it). Milli's road trip companion brings Mr. Grumpy into sunshine Milli's life and so much fun ensues. Then there's the secret lost love, oh my goodness. The Goodreads 4.2 star average is proof of the reader's reactions to this first book by Sarah Adler. I can't wait for her second book to publish!

I really enjoyed this fun read and the big 750-mile bike adventure trip. I can't even imagine being able to ride 50 to 60 miles a day, so for those who do, kudos to you! The book deals with real-life issues  of fat shaming and what healthy looks like, emotional conflict stemming from family issues, and abortion.
Abby, the main character, is a growing stronger as she works through it kind of woman. She understands her vulnerabilities and strives to get beyond them. I enjoyed her passion for bike riding and how it helped her in life.
I did have differing feelings regarding coming between minors and their parents, but each reader to his or her own opinion with that one. I'm also one who prefers avoiding political views in this genre, but again, to each their own.
Thank you, NetGalley, and Atria books for the advanced copy and opportunity to provide an honest review.

I loved not liking these characters. 😁 Most of them behave badly, and all of them have secrets. It's not as much a thriller as it is a suspenseful story about the desperate summer lives of these rich families. Someone died at the very start of the book, and by 40%, I had almost forgotten the death had happened. It will get back to it in the end. Who has died and how they died is a story in itself.

An interesting domestic thriller with (of course 😄) a big twist toward the end. It's definitely an enjoyable listen as I did this one via audio.
