The White Album by Joan Didion

some essays were super interesting and gave great insights into the 60s but others i didn’t quite grasp the context (as i am 25 general  don’t have much knowledge of american history outside of what ive learned from tv)  

sometimes i didnt know exactly her point but i enjoyed the ride..i think?

some of her thoughts class almost reached the truth but i think her own privilege got in the way.

the essay on hollywood was the one that felt the most relevant to me

i loved this book! i really wish that the two stories felt more connected genre wise. i enjoyed the story took these two genres and turned them and made them queer but the second half of the book needed maybe one or two more chapters (mostly bc i just loved the baby sitters club vibes at first.

the shifting narrative was really interesting and definitely made me want more books written this way. 

i wish it was longer!!!
