WHAT THE HELL

Okay so I have so many mixed feelings about this book. And the characters are so complex and you don’t know what’s the truth and what’s not so I hate Verity but pity her at the same time. Same with Jeremy, and Lowen. Though I really feel bad for Crew.

But basically this book is about an aspiring author who starts co writing the famous author Verity Crawford’s books because she cannot finish them due to her injury. She moves in for a little while to go through all of her notes and finds a manuscript/autobiography. The manuscript is full of ugly truths, and I honestly can’t say much because almost everything is a spoiler. But the book was plot twist after plot twist, and I really recommend. Though if you are going to read it please look up TW’s.

ok so i read this at 1 am in which i’m very sensitive to scarier things and i was a little scared 😋

though i actually loved this story, it’s refreshing to read a mystery/horror every once and a while. and i love horror/mystery that have f*cking breaks cause then i don’t get scared so, yeah.

though i was kinda weirded meh about the student guy/ teachery guy that was the love interest in this story. like, i’m very conflicted but somehow loved him at the same time. yeah.

I was disappointed in this read. I kept on seeing the author on tiktok talking about this upcoming release, and I was excited. But then I got this short novella that just bored me, there wasn’t much special about the story. It was just very bland for me, and I’m upset I didn’t enjoy this story. My main issue was the way Jack became so wrapped up in her it was very insta lovey.
Spoiler Like, he spent one night with her and then got married to her in the epilogue?

Ok, so I don’t really know what to say about this one. I didn’t expect anything that was going to happen in the story to happen. Also I know this story is supposed to have like no magic but is Hades like 55? I know hercules is like 23 in this story and meg is like idk 30? I’m very confused by all of the ages in this story and a lot of the other characters in general 🤩 I think I’m just gonna read Tinks story and be done with this series :/

Damn ok.

I’m not gonna rate this one cause I’m very conflicted. The story was a little over 200 pages but it somehow felt like it was long enough for me to get their whole relationship. The first book I read by Katee Robert was neon gods and I loved that one, and this one somehow felt like a complete 180. Not in the fact that I didn’t enjoy it, but it felt very different than in Neon Gods, though I enjoyed both of the stories.

So this was not what I was expecting, and sadly not in a good way. I’ve seen a lot of hype for this book on tiktok, and i’m not giving it 3 stars because it didn’t meet my expectations, but because of some issues I have with the book.

Starting off is the dialogue, a lot of it felt repetitive and it felt like everything said was coming from the same character. There was no difference within this aspect, which I’ve never really seen before, but all authors struggle with different aspects, and this is a debut novel.

I also felt like, though the writing was easy to read and I loved how I could get through it quickly, it felt stretched on and a little bit lazy? I started “the fine print” before I got a copy of this, and the progression in the writing is insane, which is why I am a bit disappointed coming into the book.

My final issue, was that with the discussion of Noah sleeping around a lot, there were a lot of comments towards the women he slept with that were very stereotypical and basically misogynistic. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this author so I will be reading all of her other books in hopes of progression within this aspect.

With that said, I loved Noah and Mayas relationship, and I loved the epilogue and ending chapters as well as the beginning chapters. The middle felt a little slow, though overall the story was enjoyable, and I am excited to read Sophie and Liams book :)

*kinda spoilers*

i heard a lot of bad things about this book, but honestly it wasn’t bad. the main thing i was very icky about going in was that i knew he f*cked her mother, but the was people talked about this wasn’t as though he was literally groomed. but like, it literally says in the book that they met when he was like 9-12 i don’t remember, and the author literally states that she groomed him. i literally thought that he was f*cking her mom while they were together and shit, and it kinda makes me a little mad the way people in reviews were making it seem like he was cheating on elena, and that he did something wrong. like, he was literally a child, doesn’t it literally say their relationship ENDED when he was 19, i honestly pity him. anyways, the writing was as good as the other series that is interconnected to it and i enjoyed the story, and i can’t wait for the next book in the series. though i am a little disappointed at the lack of some of the plot, and i was a little confused at some parts of the story but it all came together at the end. most of the story was elena and kallums relationship, which i’m fine with, but i was hoping for a little more.
