Cringey, annoying, typical “cartoon cover” type romance. The “recharging station”, ew. The sister contributed nothing to the plot and was an annoying addition. Brenden could have been hot but his weird over protective tendencies gave me the ick. Like when Piper jokes about him making too much money and he freaks out thinking she’s actually dumping him.. boy chill. I think this could have been a really great story but the dialogue and characters were just insufferable.

I don’t understand the hype. There’s about 200 pages of basically nothing happening. A death in the beginning that seems to have been included for pure shock value.
and if the ending “twist” is true, does that not make Jeremy the bad guy? But then Lowen stays with him?
it took me forever to trudge through this book and I’m so glad I get to move on now.

I finished it… pretty mehh and overhyped in my opinion. The representation was fantastic, chronic illness not something that’s talked about much especially when it comes to the romance genre. The witty dialogue and banter was great of course, Talia is clearly a very good writer. I was promised plenty of smut and this just did not live up to that promise for me. The sisters annoyed me, the Annie “friend” added nothing to the plot, the spice was underwhelming and there was a lot of build up without much pay off. The scene with Red and the overalls gave me hope but there were continual instances where I thought we were building up to something more spicy but I was let down several times. One actual sex scene in a tent? Snooze. I may need to stop listening to audiobooks as I think it’s effecting my opinions but this was just no for me.
