Made me laugh, nearly made me cry, kind of left me wanting more in certain aspects though.

Whenever someone asks me for a book recommendation, this is always the book I suggest. I'm not really sure what that says about me. It's not a perfect read, as the writing style takes some getting used to and paragraphs don't really exist. But this is a dystopian novel that's more realistic than most. It's dark and bleak and shows the worst of humanity, but in the end it's a father trying to keep his son alive.

This is the kind of book I love to read. Morally gray characters are so much fun, it just seemed to wrap up too quickly for me. It all happened in a way that made sense and was enjoyable though.

I very rarely rate books, even if they're five stars. Out of the books i've read this year there have been many, many five stars. But this book was such a warm hug that I felt the need.
