Okay so I feel like this book was marketed as a romance but it was much more than that. The friendships in this book are what stand out for me especially Edie and her cousin Giles who’s a loveable eccentric.
The writing flowers really well for me and drew me into each character effortlessly which is one of the things I look for in a book. I definitely recommend giving this a go if you like a book that’s got more to it then just a romance and has good character development.

I was actually really surprised by this book. I struggled to get into this book to start off with and was ready to give it up but then suddenly it started to flow for me and I got really invested in Ah Mei and Hassan’s life. It really brings home the injustices that women went through no matter the culture, some worse than others. Ah Mei was quite naive for a long time about what was going on in that house but it’s hard for me to completely understand how sheltered she would have been.
I like that the spirits are reaching out and in their way they are trying to protect the girls that are in danger next and the social injustices that are represented in this book.

Wow what a ride. Bree’s story really got to me and some scenes were graphic and I needed a moment before continuing. The author really gets through the desperation the characters all felt and what it takes to survive in such a horrible world.
I can understand Tysons feelings to escape, I feel like it was described how I feel sometimes. I also thought don’t be stupid stay in the nice safe lane.
The multiple POVs didn’t over whelm me and was done really well. I’m so excited to continue with this series and anything else this author does.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this mystery thriller. The ending wasn’t what I expected and left it wide open for a continuation of the series which I can’t wait to get my hands on. The writing flowed beautifully and pulled me in effortlessly. While the ending wasn’t watch shattering omg that’s it ( I think we will have to wait for that one in a following book) I didn’t expect how it would end and has left me wanting.
Quill and Red are both growing in their own right and I can’t wait to see how they go. I definitely recommend giving this one a go

The cover is very striking and drew me in straight away. I liked the elemental school and how it’s for college age people. While I struggled a bit with this book, I can see why others would love it. If you like intrigue, strong friendships and chosen ones then this may be the story for you. This book gives strong Harry Potter vibes.

That cover really pulled me in and I love elemental magic. This books was faced paced with a lot of action straight off the bat. If you also enjoy sports in your books I’d recommend this one as there was a lot of Thrashball, the sport of choice, described in lots of detail. I personally am not a sport fan but it was done well.
The main character Sion annoyed me, everyone thought he was really great but I thought he was an ass most of the time. I liked the parts with Rajae the most, she had the most spirit and was a kick ass woman and she really redeemed it for me

This book was delightful, emotional and funny. I couldn’t  even imagine what it would be like to go through the heartbreak these women did to have a baby but the author did an amazing job getting through to me.
Those bloody quotes 😂 I can definitely imagine every one being exasperated getting a quote every time they open up about their feelings. Made Gemma a tad bit annoying until I got used to it. Josh was a sweetheart right from the get go and I couldn’t believe how blind she was about him.
The characters were brought alive for me and I enjoyed the ride of their lives. My favourite character was Brooke. She had a story for everything to make you shudder and her wise cracks made me laugh out loud.
Can’t wait to read more from this author.

What a story! I loved it! I loved the plot, the characters, the growth, everything. I didn’t know what to expect with a blurb like that. So much is still unknown about Keymark so I hope we get either a sequel or more from this world.
The pace was perfect for this story, I felt like I really got to know the main characters, maybe not so much Leah, but there’s always (hopefully) next time. She was a good strong capable woman who I am sure would have saved herself given a few more hours alone 😏

Now is it believable that a 14 year old boy comes through a gate and can do life saving surgery? Probs not. Neither is a person who can shoot fire from their hands but this author managed it in a way that I didn’t hang onto that fact and was able to emerge myself into it fully.

Black Jack. I’m not even sure what I was supposed to have learnt about him to be honest and that leaves me wanting more! I will be buying this book when it comes out and I will be hoping for a hardcover ❤️
