I liked the characters, the mutual pining and the premise but the pacing was intolerable.

This had such a strong start and slowly lost me over the last half of the book.  I loved the set up, the introduction of all the necessary characters and the main conflict of the story was done really well, but then what they did with those characters and the conflict didn't live up to the hype.
Super confused by some of the character's motivations, especially Ethan's

the first time he kisses Beau.  He literally said something along the lines of "How could you call me a liar? I know I'm not telling the whole truth but .." which is such a messy line I don't think you want in your book.
I was expecting Chase's comeback and reunion with Beau to be way more of the book then it was because Ethan kept mentioning how much of a mess it would be and then it wasn't.
I thought Ethan and Beau were really cute and had some great chemistry, but jesus christ you're adults.  Please talk to each other like ones.
All that and I still would have given this book a soft 3 stars BUT THEN IT HAD TO FINISH WITH THE "BIG SPEECH AT THE VERY END" TROPE. WHICH I CAN'T STAND. 
Finished the book out of sheer curiosity and I'm not sure I'm glad I did.
