What an interesting read... It was a well written psychological thriller that will keep you on your toes throughout. I will say I thought this was an average read until we were 2/3 through the book.
Trying to figure this book out was a challenge and I would have never guessed that ending. It was fun seeing none of the hundreds of theories I had were what really happened lol

crazy that this short book felt exactly like the movie! Great depth of emotions and exploration of characters for such a short read
This should be the standard for all short stories.

absolutely not for me and not what I expected
there were constaaaaant tangents so much so I kept thinking this might be a non-fiction. This really got on my nerves.
insufferable main characters, couldn't stand any of them. I'm not one to dislike a book because the main characters were 'bad' but I really hated this.
Finally, the plot just went NOWHERE. We ended exactly where we started with one or two 'issues' thrown in and stretched out plus tangents... I guess that made a full novel in the end.
REALLY needed a decent editor.

This would've been better stretched out to a whole novel cos the timeline is unbelievable and I couldn't suspend by belief lol

light and easy read with interesting discussions with the bookclub
unfortunately this was not as deep and profound as we expected it to be... and I really disliked the main character's "novel" insert. Just so unnecessary. BUT credit where credit is due, this is a life changing, mind blowing book for the time it was released. If I read this in '94, it would be my favourite book of all time probably.
