An important read that sheds light on Syrian refugees. There is room for improvement in the novel/characters but I would still recommend it especially if you don't know/don't understand what's been happening for over a decade now in Syria. It's a good book to start with.

Almost a 4 stars for me but not quite there yet.
Don't the rating fool you though, I really enjoyed Babel. There is definitely room for improvement in the writing style and the characters. I would have wanted to know more about Ramy and Victoire. We only get glimpses of their history/childhood. I read this book for Ramy's punchlines. Loved his sharpness. Letty was legit annoying but I didn't expect any less.
Overall, I highly recommend it! Go for it if you enjoy anti-colonial fantasy.
