It’s a dark, dark book. But I love it with all my heart.

Madeline Miller never ceases to surprise me with her ability to tap into the psyche of those who lead an entirely different life to her. even more impressive is her ability to then repackage that for readers. I can't put into words the love, loss, and beyond that I've experienced in the packed 300+ pages that was Circe.

It’s so unsettling and heartbreaking to see a beautiful depiction of a great love, doomed from the start.

The book was a little slow in certain sections, at the beginning of the book. But when it picked back up, it REALLY picked back up. It’s not a classic for me, but it’s definitely a book that I can see myself revisiting again.

The characters became a caricature of their original selves
