First I want to start off by saying that Lauren Muñoz wrote such a great debut novel. This book was so good and I couldn’t put it down for anything.

I loved the different POV chapters from every suspect and even the victim. I was so invested in the flashback chapters and felt they were well-placed while also continuing to add more mystery and motive to the murder.

I loved that some of the lies, secrets and motives were interconnected in a way that shed light on why the victim was murdered while also revealing deep secrets about each character that wasn’t the killer.

I loved that we got to hear all of the police interviews since our main protagonist, Izzy, was able to eavesdrop on them as well as the detectives after each interview would end. It felt much more personal than not knowing or finding out later but it also made the story more mysterious and compelling.

I loved the ending, it felt so different from most murder mysteries. I didn’t guess the killer  but I try to keep myself from guessing because then I feel like I ruin the book for myself.  Overall in my opinion, this was a great YA mystery and I'm glad to have given it a chance.

This was a cute romcom but it wasn’t just another typical love story, it delved into so much more.  It talks about truly living the life you have- as we only get one life, found family, be kind, and letting people in even when all we want to do is keep ourselves guarded, to ensure we won’t get hurt. This story really does delve into the importance of human interaction and connection.

I did feel there were a lot of filler pages of stuff we didn’t really need to know and that’s just annoying to me but I did find the humor made up for it. I laughed out loud so many times! There are several romance tropes in this book that i absolutely loved; enemies to lovers, only one bed, and fake dating.

All in all, it was an enjoyable & funny read. I hope we get to read Merritt’s story next!

I wasn’t really sure how to feel about this book going in but I’m completely obsessed. First of all Johnny is a dream boat but my favorite male character hands down is Gibsie. He had me literally laughing out loud the entire time.

Also can we just say that Johnny high on morphine was the greatest thing ever 💀

That cliffhanger too 😮‍💨

On to book 2 👋🏼

I love Len’s writing style, I love how her books just flow and she writes intentionally. She doesn’t fill the book with in-needed pages or dialogue. She writes what we as the reader need to know. I love the way she has created this entirely new concept of monsters and their world.

This one did seem a little repetitive at times- when Joan would be speaking about Nick- but at some points I was grateful for it because it would remind me of key things that had happened in book one.

I truly was NOT seeing that ending coming. That ending was INSANE. My heart aches for Joan, I feel this poor girl can never just have a calm, relaxing day in her life 😕

I can’t wait for book three! I am hoping Joan and Aaron will be end game 🤞🏼🤞🏼
