Dense with psychology/psychiatry references, with a refreshingly large and sometimes obtuse vocabulary compared to some of the stuff I've read recently. I enjoyed its down-to-earth everyday happenings, described in big words, and the intense analyzation of emotions, abuse & neglect, the processing of that, and the decision to move forward in hope.
Sweet, endearing, a quick read. Though not terribly graphic, there are depictions of disordered eating and self-harm which could be triggering - know yourself and how far you are into recovery if you want to read. That said, the narrator's inner monologue slowly grows into a fierce dedication to growth, self-care, soul-searching, and recovery - and also popping her cherry. It's cute and ends hopefully.
