Definitely different from the first 5 Percy Jackson books, and this is a re-read and I will say I hated Jason on the first read but I don't hate him anymore so that's a win in my book. I do like the new characters and Riordan is just so creative and a genius.

The idea of this book is really interesting to me: a young man joining the war effort and his emotions going through that. I felt, however, it fell short of that and what I expected was going to be in the book. It still is a cool idea, following almost only one character over a one or two day period, but it took me a while to read because I just had no motivation to. Obviously this book is an American Lit classic and the writing is very good, the themes are woven in thick and there are many things to analyze for sure if you're into that. Overall kind of a drag to read but a good book to write an essay about.

This book is kind of an extension of the main story line, so it was kind of unnecessary in the series overall. Like the other two books, the writing was flat and the relationships boring, however I still did like the mystery of the whole world and the characters were, if nothing else, simple and fun.

I don't love reading plays, but I had to read this for my AP Lit class and I found it enjoyable. I really like the story about how capitalism and the economy in America can really affect a family and a man in general. The story follows a man, Willy, who is slowly going mad in his job in corporate America, and his family where one son has the same dreams as him and one does not.

Pretty much the same as the last book, I liked the plot a lot but I disliked the writing style, I found it flat and the characters flat and therefore also the relationships.

I loved the plot of the story and the riddles in the book are very good and fun, although some of the plot twists I wasn't a huge fan of. I also wasn't a huge fan of the characters, they felt pretty flat and I despise love triangles so be warned, a big love triangle in this series.

(side note: i find it hard to rate books on the same scales because to me this book is an example of a book i don’t find intellectually stimulating, but i enjoy all the same, so i rate it four stars because i liked it, but not because it was a literary masterpiece)
i thought that almost everything in this book was pretty great! the writing was cheesy but it’s a romance. what i really loved was the sci-fi aspect of the plot and i can really see this happening to someone in real life, which i like in a book
