A lovely book with a established simple yet efficient universe of magic creatures interacting with humans and their world.

Sadly, it is a bit too slow for me at the beginning though I can see how some people might like this pace. The main character is a bit cold at the beginning and it is acknowledged, but the wait for her to show a bit more emotions is maybe too much?
And it took me about half the book to become really invested in the plot.

Though once you're in, you're in! And the side characters help the main ones shine in the best of way. I found myself rooting for everyone and I can't wait for the next book to come out now !

Absolutely marvelous, dare I say better than the first book of the series?
A prequel finely written with great characters, all lovable despite some flaws.

I could say a lot about it but I fear I'd say too much.
Please take the time to read it !

A great book, fast read, relatable characters. The book is short, the rythm is fast but the story holds up and takes an unexpected twist at the very end.

This book add me questioning why it was labeled as horror at first but it just gets worse and worse and worse the more you read it. But like, in a good way, for a book of the genre.

I feel like the author did an amazing good job to make us feel like the main character, finding out, bits by bits the things that were going on in that house, and how deep it went.

The more you read it, the harder it is to put down.

This book is good for a YA public looking for fantasy and a more adult take on a classic fairy tale.

The characters are young and it translates in the way they act sometimes, but what's going on around them can be a little gory (without too much details though), so watch out for trigger warnings if needed.

Don't go thinking it's a big world build, but it's just enough for the story to make sense, in that little region where everything goes on. It's fast but everything you need to know is there.
