this one was definitely better than the first book. still very cringy at parts but the ending was exciting and a bit more mature. hopefully the last book explores more on

pip’s dark side.

i was surprised by

claudia being dead

that gave me a gasp of surprise. although, i guessed

the brother doing the "paranormal" side.

i would've preferred if the book focused more of the institute as i felt that could be a strong story for sure.

this book carries a big weight with it. the story is heart wrenching. you feel intertwined with these characters and their lives. it shows the harsh reality of wartime. i would highly recommend it.
