I have always wanted to read this series and started into it in 2020 of course amidst the chaos. What's unfortunate is that this series may not age well with all of its references to 90s ways of communication and transportation. However if you can read past all of that, and of course remember when these books were first published, it is an easy to follow fiction prediction of the end times set out in Revelation. Great setup with enough arcs that need completion for the amount of books in the series.

I understand that this will probably look like a very juvenile review... but holy smokes I could not put this down. I was left speechless about 30 different times and couldn't believe how it ended (in a very good way!). Completely through out what I had perceived I knew about certain characters, and changes the whole game. Definitely intrigued and ready to get the next book started, but first, I need a few days to recover and prepare for whatever Maas has planned next. I may not be ready for it!

There are many mixed reviews out there for this one. If you like to have rounded out storylines and more in depth knowledge of the other characters outside the MCs, then you need to read this book in the series. I'm just beginning ACOSF and I can say I'm very grateful for the individual details that were written in this short read. It felt like a 'christmas special' in a way. Real depth into their thoughts and planning into a celebration much deserved after the war. It was a fun read with what I believe to be necessary details to the entire plot.

I absolutely loved that we were able to get some reception and more backstory into these characters outside our High Lord and Lady. It was just a very fun story with enough to keep me wanting to open the next page. Even the spicy scenes had more depth that just pure anatomical narration which is always nice in a book that has sooooooo much more to offer than just smut. I loved this book.

This is the first YA book I’ve read in a long time and as someone in the latter 20s, I was surprised to have been kept reading and intrigued. Well worth the read, couldn’t put it down.
