How nice to be back at Haven River Ranch! I love the cozy, small town, cowboy romance vibes of this series and I was excited to finally dive into Jax’s character in Sunlight!

Jax had been through so much that was completely out of his control, and it was so heartbreaking to hear how it impacted him. Give me a broken hero and I’m going to love him 100% of the time. I loved how he was so into Sasha from the moment they met, their banter was fun and their chemistry was obvious. Both characters worked on themselves and their communication throughout the book, Sasha in particular had to learn to let Jax in. I love to see characters who make you believe they can go the distance. There were some really swoon worthy moments between Sasha and Jax too. I loved them asking one another to  “Tell me a lie?” and “Tell me a secret”🥰

I hope there are more books at Haven River Ranch, but in the mean time I’ll be reading Devney Perry’s backlist!

🎧The narration by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson was so good! I thought Stephen Dexter was the perfect voice for Jax and I’ll definitely be looking up more from him.

Another touchdown for Lex Martin!🏈

She has officially become an autobuy author for me. Every book I’ve read from her has been a winner. I don’t tend to gravitate toward single dad or pregnancy tropes, and yet i’ve loved every book i’ve read in the Varsity Dads series. She always delivers an exciting plot with memorable events and lots of angst, balanced with a really wholesome and moving romance that makes me swoon.

I was so excited to be getting Abby’s story after everything Ezra put her through that we caught glimpses of in the last book. Combine that with Nick’s tragic backstory and his precious relationship with his daughter Hazel and you’ve got a couple worth rooting for. I think Nick and Abby’s romance might be my favourite yet? I was laughing, crying, swooning kicking my feet the entire book.

One of my favourite romances of the year🏆

Ps- I am so excited to read Lex Martin’s new series starting with Paige’s book that was teased at the end!

Well ok, we’re in spooky season now! 👻 The dark gothic small town setting and spooky atmosphere in this book were so ideal for this time of year. I really loved the vibes of this one.

This is a very spicy book and I thought the spice was a bit quick to start, but the way the romance built as Remi and Dane got to know one another, they soon won me over. Especially Dane, I am a sucker for a misunderstood outcast with hidden charm.

The mystery/thriller storylines kept me intrigued, even though I did predict both of the big reveals. It didn’t detract from my enjoyment at all. I was just eager to see it all play out.

The perfect start to my spooky season reading, I recommend adding this to your October TBR🎃 Book 2 Monarch is out on October 8 and I’ll definitely be adding it to my priority list!

I was hooked from the start of the book and rooting for the fmc as we saw she had been dealt one bad hand after another. I love NA sports romances and found her roommates charming and enjoyed the comraderie of the team and found family of their living dynamic. The push and pull and tension between Ever and Nico was great and I love a slow burn.

Everything really looked like it could be a 4.5 or 5 star read for me until around 3/4 of the way through. Some of the author’s choices didn’t work for me. Particularly the late conflict at the party did not feel at all realistic to me. It didn’t make sense and I didn’t buy that the characters would be reacting the way they did.

It did get better again by the end, and I loved the majority of the book so I’m rounding up to 4. I do think I’ll read the rest of the series because I want to know what’s up with Sienna and Gavin, and I’d love to see Coop and Dollar get their HEAs!

The news that The Love Of My Afterlife is being adapted to screen coincidentally came the day I read this book. I was so excited because though I wasn’t finished yet, I was absolutely loving it and was already thinking it would make a great film.

From the first romantic scene where Greenwood describes the spark between Delphie and her mysterious stranger I knew I was going to enjoy the romance. Then when we met her neighbour Cooper and they have this push and pull enemies to lovers energy between them I was even more hooked. While the book obviously deals with some heavy topics, Greenwood balanced them well with a lot of light, funny and heartwarming scenes, so the majority of the time I was laughing or smiling. There are some outrageous scenes that while not completely realistic had me actually laughing out loud. The over the top moments fit perfectly and completely worked tor me.

This book was so much more than Delphie finding romantic love. The side characters were all so charming so the found family was a strong point too. I especially loved Delphie’s relationship with her elderly nonverbal neighbour Mr. Yoon. Delphie herself really goes on a journey of self discovery as she learns to appreciate everything she took for granted and everything she never bothered to explore. Delphie must learn self love and find her own courage. I left this read feeling a renewed zest for life and a desire to step outside my comfort zone. If that’s not a five star read, I don’t know what is!

Some shows that it slightly reminded me of were Drop Dead Diva and Being Erica. If you enjoyed those I think you’ll like this one!

So happy I read this one! Even though my TBR just grew a whole lot between Brittanee Nicole and Jenni Bara’s intertwining back lists😅

This book had me smiling so much with how obsessed Aiden was with Lennox☺️ There were some very romantic moments they created for each other and I just couldn’t get enough of them. I’m a sucker for a second chance! They both had a mutual love and respect for each other that could be felt throughout the story. Lennox had a lot of self doubt to work through and Aiden was always there to lift her up and help her see what everyone else could already see in her. Lennox never hesitated to be there when Aiden needed her and to show him he didn’t have to put a brave face on with her.

There was a lot of emotional moments that had me tearing up, sometimes even for characters who I haven’t had the privilege of getting to know in past books. I’m excited to read the stories of all the other characters I met in this one. The found family was just so good! I loved the banter between the Langfield brothers, their girlfriends and honestly everyone else in their circle!

My favourite part about this book was Aiden though. I found the way he felt about his mental health to be so relatable. His journey in this book had a real impact on me and how I will approach personal struggles in the future. Thank you @authorbrittaneenicole 💕

Caribbean Crush was an unputdownable enemies to lovers summer read! The story follows Casey, an aspiring travel writer assigned to a job on a new luxury cruise ship. We also see a second POV from the MMC Phillip, the heir to the cruise company and the man in charge on the ship.

This book felt like taking a vacation while reading. Expect a lot of beautifully described travel scenery, close friendships, fun banter and plenty of spice! 🌶️🥵 Phillip and Casey had such palpable chemistry, I didn’t want to put the book down and read late into the night. Without weighing the book down too much the author also touched on more serious subjects like grief, and finding your place in the world.

I hadn’t read R.S. Grey in a while but I definitely plan to read more soon!

I’m finally feeling better and I finished this beauty today! WOW! There is absolutely no second book syndrome happening here folks!

This was non-stop fantasy adventure, with hidden encampments, magical libraries, 🦄unicorn and other shifters, elemental fae, and a found family who share a common goal. I loved all the new and different characters we’ve been introduced to! All strong and interesting characters in their own right. My favourite character continues to be Nero, his accent from the audiobook of Sky Of Thorns is permanently stuck in my head🤍

There were many emotional moments throughout, as Aramis and Sybil both come to terms with a lot of new information. I appreciate that it’s told in Dual POV so we can see their internal struggles both independently and in relation to one another.

I can’t wait for book 3, to see how everything wraps up! Fingers crossed i’ll have the chance to reread this one on audio before Succession Of Thorns comes out🤞🏼

Thank you to @fleurdevillainy for providing me a copy to read and review, and for writing this fabulous series!

The Hunted Heir was my most anticipated sequel for 2024 and let me tell you, it was EVERYTHING! The stakes were high the whole book. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the other shoe to drop in every scene, and the tension just kept building!

Daddy Dacre is officially my favourite MMC this year! He did exactly what I wanted in this book. If you read book 1 you probably know what I mean! His chemistry with Verena is off the charts and that man sure brings the heat🥵

I love Verena too. She’s such an easy heroine to root for, and we’re still discovering things about her as she discovers them herself. I can’t wait to see her evolution in book 3!

I really don’t want to say too much as it’s a sequel, and I wouldn’t want to rob anyone of the pleasure of reading it for themselves. I’d say I wished it was longer, but honestly Holly could write a 500 page book and I know I’d still be begging for more😅 This is truly one of my favourite romantasy series. I’ll be impatiently waiting over here for book 3!

That was so good! I’ve never read a romance book about Olympic medalists before, but I love sports romance and it’s always a bonus when both main characters are athletes! The level at which they were competing made the stakes feel much higher.

TJ and Caleb are both really likeable characters with a lot of depth we get to uncover. They understand each other and the pressure they’re under in a way not many people would. As friends they support one another and empathize with each other, often seeing through to even the parts of themselves they attempt to keep hidden. Both of the characters being athletes allowed for some really great caretaking scenes too! There was no doubt in my mind that they were perfect for each other, even before they started to realize it themselves!

This had all the flirty fun of a sports romance, no strings attached dynamic while also being intense and emotional at times. We explore a lot of Caleb and TJ’s personal struggles. I was just as invested in their personal development as I was their olympic journey, and their romance. It all felt really well balanced.

There were just a few parts where something was mentioned having happened off page, that I wished we could have seen happen rather than only hearing about it. That’s really the only clritique I have.

I’m so impressed with how good this was when Michae is a relatively new writer. It makes me so excited to read what she writes next!
