I enjoyed this book! I found the characters and their banter fun, and I thought the fake-engagement was a different twist on the fake-dating trope. The story was lighthearted, but still had growth and character development, which I appreciated. I thought some things were glossed over a little in the beginning, but they came together nicely in the end so I understand why the information was spaced out as it was. Even with that, I will definitely be picking up some of her other books.

I enjoyed this book! The author crafted a fun novel, with flashes to the past that connect in a very satisfying way. With this book was translated to english, I felt that it read with a flow and nothing caused me confusion, which I appreciated. If I had to complain, I would have like a little more story between the main characters - I am not sure if that is addressed in the following books (this is part of a series and I am not sure if it continues to follow one or both of these characters or someone else?). I appreciated getting to know them, and I think there were a couple more ties that could have been addressed (but again, maybe that's the next book, in which case no complaints on that front).

This story, while having lighthearted moments, does have a pretty serious setting and purpose for the story. I think the author noted them appropriately in a warning page, and that is something I appreciated as a mood reader. There's parts of history mentioned that can be a bit uncomfortable in grappling with what has happened in the past. However, it is still important to recognize and hopefully past wrongs can be corrected in an appropriate way. This is a complex story, with multiple relationships, and to me it really emphasized how messy life can be. The characters struggle with the loss of their friend that connected them, and that is really the background for the whole book. It illustrates how imperfect relationships can be and that there's a choice to right your wrongs, apologize, and work towards being better. It talks about accountability, all without a "holier-than-thou" attitude. This book is absolutely worth a read, but important to also be gentle with yourself based on the author notes.

This was entertaining. The author wove in characters from her previous novel, which I always appreciate! Dylan and Derek get stuck together due to some needed renovations in their apartments, and it continues to get chaotic and less chaotic as the story progresses. I appreciate that stories are shifting towards healthy dialogue between the characters versus perpetuating less-than-ideal communication patterns in relationships. While I think I liked Olive and Stella *just* a bit better, Dylan and Derek are a really solid second place!
