not sure why i can't give it 5 stars... but i loved reading this book. it was so informative and i learned so much about the chinese. mainly mainlanders and singaporeans. the personalities of the characters were so thought out and the descriptions of their families, intentions and all that were well written. can't wait to read the second book. this also makes me want to be involved in an old money rich family just for the drama!!!

Overall, I enjoyed reading this but the ending felt rushed and I feel like

Beth and Lincoln shouldn’t have ended up together. I doubt Jennifer would be comfortable around the person who read their personal e-mails.

Easy read, short chapters. Worth reading? Yes despit the underwhelming development and ending.
