When I read "old" books, I often ask myself if it's alright to enjoy them even though I do not agree with the world views in them. And usually, I still do fancy them a lot, but here it was just too much. The whole story was about a relationship between a 28 yo widow and a 16 yo girl. And it's such a shame because It's my first time reading George Sand, and I expected so much more.
Nonetheless, it is very well written and would be a cute, lighthearted love story if it weren't for the age gap. I'm sorry, but everytime I imagined them together I was just so disgusted...
I would really like to read more from George Sand though, hopefully I will like her other books more.

It's my first time reading Edith Wharton, so I had no idea what to expectđ§đ»ââïžFrom the title and the book cover (I know never judge a book by its cover etc etc but I did) I thought it was going to be a light summer love story. Well, let me tell you, it certainly was NOT. Also, I'm furious at the ending !! Like, yes, I know it's a realistic one, especially for this time, BUT I'M STILL SO FREAKING FURIOUS OMG ?????
