“we are sometimes so happy, and never in our lives have we known more unhappiness. It’s as if we were working together on the same statue, cutting it out of each other’s misery. But I don’t even know the design.”

Will most likely think about this book for the rest of my life.

This book creates a complex canvas where love, obsession, hatred, faith feature in interconnected ways. The reality of human relationships and interactions, the questions plaguing our existence daily, the chemicals released when a person takes over your mind, the burden of feeling too much or the absence of any feelings at all. The denial of any connection, the rapid and unexpected twists life presents. Is there such a thing as a coincidence? Or are people meant to cross paths, leave an imprint, and embark on a different journey again. How do we interpret signs? How do we interrogate circumstances.

sometimes unreliable yet undeniably truthful.

brb, gathering thoughts and feelings. 🤍

“He hadn’t known it was possible to embrace lightning until he’d held her, and the experience had left him exhilarated.”

Can I get a round of applause for actually finishing a book after this ferocious reading slump I’ve been in… for what feels like the longest time?!

And not only did I actually finish a book but I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it too. 🥹🩷  Combine fantasy with a Beauty and the Beast retelling and what do you get? This little gem. <3
It’s not the type of retelling where everything follows the exact original sequence of events. This one had its own lore, twists and turns, unique takes on the original, such a unique group of characters — and everyone was interesting in their own way!

A curse that affects not just one but two people — and it’s not as easy to get rid of. A little kiss won’t save this bunch of characters, everyone. So our heroine(s) will have to try way harder to find a way.🫣 Oh, the roses were a little nastier in this one too.

I loved Louvaen and I loved Ballard. They made so much sense and they were wonderful and ideal for one another. It’s so refreshing reading about adult characters making adult decisions; characters who actually communicate so well and respect each other. 😌🤍 I was borderline losing my sanity with the slow burning, every time they would as much as hold hands, I was giggling and was ready to start applauding. But when the slow burn indeed burned…oh boy 🤭 stellar material.

“He wanted more of this—the exhilaration of truly living instead of only counting time. The sharp-tongued sister who’d invaded his home, made her demands and challenged his authority as dominus sent the blood singing through his veins.”

I know some people have said that the beginning was a bit slow and I would agree. Although, I’m not sure to what extent my reading slump is to blame for my own experience :’). It’s so worth it though, definitely push through! ⛅️

I’m so ready to explore more of Grace Draven’s books 🩷.

“I’m offering you my whole damned life, if you want it.” 🫠

It’s always the books with the cute covers, I’m telling you! I had been eyeing this book for the longest time I finally got the opportunity to read it. 😌

I know there are mixed feelings and reviews surrounding this one; however, I personally really enjoyed it. 🙈 maybe it’s because I was just looking for a silly little fun time and that’s what I got. This book was funny and cute and sexy, it had a bit of everything! Not only did it have engaging main characters, but the secondary characters were so interesting as well! All of them very distinctive.

If we’re being honest, if there is a nanny association out there, then these characters are in serious trouble because I can see how some things here can be soooo wrong 😂. Now, if we were to throw that out of the window, then you’re in for a treat. 😏

Can we please talk about the gem that is Aiden?! THIS MAN. Practically invented communication. Invented talking about issues instead of pushing them aside. I think it’s unfair that a rich exec chef isn’t in love with me actually 😩. And during the spicier scenes, I was NOT expecting that side 🫠 at least based on the conversations he’d had up until that point and the usual vibe, I was so shocked. In a good way! 😂

The only reason why I didn’t give this a higher rating is because Cassie frustrated me so much at some point near the end, I wanted to scream. Especially since the others’ intentions were very clear.🙃

Other than that, this book was a vibe, would recommend 😌💫

I wanted to start this year with a dark romance, don’t ask me why 🙈. Haven’t read one in awhile so I wanted to get back into it. 🤭

This book, for the most part, delivered exactly what it promised! There was tension, questionable choices, red flags everywhere. Again, I know what I signed up for. 🥳 For a dark romance, it was truly dark. Surely, there were lighter scenes but for the most part, there were some heavily violent scenes. So definitely check out the trigger warnings provided by the author!

The relationship between the two main characters was quite explosive. Both  context and conditions of them meeting, as mentioned, were very questionable. But then again, I’m not the moral police and we’re here for the vibes lmao. 🫣 It was interesting seeing how obsessed with her Gabriel became.  Likewise, with Amelia. 😏 I never thought these characters were ever going to be able to catch a break, to be honest, because something wrong would always happen.

The potential was great. In fact, my issues surprisingly are not about any characters. Although usually I am able to overlook editing issues when reading for fun and vibes, somethings here were throwing me off. The main issue, which I found quite confusing at times, was that the tense would change even within the same paragraph. Again, sometimes I could be willing to overlook this. Especially if it doesn’t happen often. However, it was throwing me out of the story because it was very frequent. 😭 and I felt so bad because I really wanted to enjoy this more 😢..

I’m not trying to be mean and absolutely nothing negative about the lovely author! In fact, I am more than happy and willing to check out the other books she’s written! ☺️ I’m just hoping this was a singular issue with this book. As it’s my first book by this author, I’m not sure if it happens elsewhere 🙈😩.

I am very excited for the other guys who are getting  books in the same universe though! There is a specific one I’m soooo excited to read about 👀❤️

I can’t stop reading these books 😭

This picks up right where the previous book left off and we continue our very angsty story. As I said, in my review of the first book, what this author does really well are the various descriptions. Accompanied by the playlist, I would say you get a very immersive experience — yes, you can read this book without listening to the songs if you wish but I would definitely recommend giving that a try if you wish👀🫶

The relationships develop even further in this one and we get every guy’s personality a bit more fleshed out. More angsty moments as you would expect, of course. They definitely don’t have it easy but I like seeing the resilience that comes with it. 🙌⭐️

The thing that has me obsessed THE MOST is all these other characters popping up from the author’s other series. 😭 I want to read all of their stories omg, I’ve been writing down which ones we’ve met so far so I can go and read their books 🥹🤍 this is so iconic and they all know each other or of each other, I’m loving it

Onto the next one then! 🤭
