toxic obsessive sapphic high school romance my beloved.
i loved and enjoyed the race for valedictorian, the way chloe exists and how much focus and effort she puts into her academic success. i enjoyed her flaws, despite them absolutely making me mad, but it means she is a well fleshed out character and has depth to herself. i also particularly enjoyed the ending of each chapter which included notes and drafts and other things from the characters that gave me more context and made the whole setting more intriguing and gave us more dimension and made even more characters feel like they're fully fleshed out

consumed as an audiobook
this was just... mediocre. the narrator did everything for me, but the plot is definitely nothing new. i didnt needed it to be new, but just a different and interesting take on the whole "someone is taking a plane hostage and the pilot is in a moral dilemma of choosing between his family and the plane". it was decent, definitely not bad and a good and easy book to consume when you need a mindless read and dont want to think too hard. some of the characters were likeable, mainly the flight attendants. i get the legitimate beef that sam has with the us and id like this more if this would have been a critique but this is just a thriller and would have probably been better suited in another genre.
