This book had made me rethink a lot of things in my life. But more importantly, it gives me a drive to do more, to do better.
I see a lot of myself in this author. I could easily follow a lot of the paths she took if I was not the way I was. And that is not necessarily a bad thing. We are made up of the things we experience. Her experiences have been things I longed for, things I want to do but do not have the courage to do. Or that I am restricted from because of religious choices. It was enlightens to read about her life. And it is encouraging me to live my life and have my experiences. Not only because I want them, but because, in the future I wasn’t to use them to help other people.
I want to be for others what Nichole Perkins has been for me. Thank you. I have read your story and I appreciate the courage it took to write it and the wisdom you have passed to me.

F*ck Ivy. Free my dude Wes🤟🏾
The first take away from this story is that people need to mind their own business. Heath, Bianca, Karen, Abigail. All of them.
Second, Ivy was the problem.
The way this story had layers upon layers to peel back and unveil the real motives and truths in this story is crazy. How everyone was connected, how someone could flip on another (or not) at the drop of a dime. How you can never really let someone go that slighted you, even if it’s not good for you. It was all so masterful.
And I think the message here is to stop and take a look at yourself and why you believe the things you do? What experiences shape your beliefs in the world?
Everyone here believe something; that Wes was trouble and Ivy needed to be free of him.
Karen, who was so sure Ivy was in trouble, that she risked her career to try and find a way to build a case against Wes to free Ivy because that was her personal experience.
Heath, who may deny the true nature of his feelings, was so in love with his best friend that he meddled in her relationship and ultimately drove her away in the end.
Bianca, who mistook Wes’ guilt at a situation he had no choice in being apart of and doing a small act of penance, as him being the bad guy.
These people did any and everything to try and put Wes behind bars. When the should’ve muzzled and locked up Ivy instead.
But Wes loved her, and still chose her. And to that I say….
You got me f*cked up.
