The beginning is really slow and info dumpy but I was locked in by about 100 pages in. Really love Hunt and Bryce 💛

This was so so good. The audiobook just adds an entire level to it. I immediately started the second one which I hardly ever do with a series.

Excellent commentary on mortality and the morality of death and a well executed premise.

Short, bittersweet, and gripping. Some poems I connected to more than others.

Definitely the fun romance I needed right now. I think a lot of Ali’s characters are very samesies but I just enjoy the plots and the pining. And Levi is such a cute character plus all the tropes are right up my alley.

This was a cute and fun historical retelling. Some of the jokes were trying a bit too hard at times. I liked the addition of magic and that each chapter changed perspectives which kept it moving quickly.

The writing style was good, not cringy or clunky. It is basically a straight ripoff of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I liked the characters together but the 3rd act breakup was predictable and lame. Also, it really annoyed me that the FMC basically never thought of the MMC as attractive because he had a beard. She even called him Bigfoot to her friends and kept saying he was too hairy to be attractive. As soon as he shaves the beard, she’s all over him. She’s all about not judging people but judges him so hard for having a beard and it just really annoyed me.

This was basically The Hate U Give but with witches. Both books have a plot deadline for the characters which I find bogs they down in the middle and gives a lot of whiplash with the events at the end that need to happen before the deadline.

I do like the magic system and the analogy between the discrimination the Witchers face and black Americans’ struggles. I just was hoping for a bit more.
