very weird that this isn't labeled as horror; i'd consider this gothic horror rather than 'mystery'. god, this was incredible! european efforts to dominate the bush and aboriginal people ie the rock, and the rock forcing them to confront their guilt and fear and realize that 'australia' is not comprised of their history and that their history is dwarfed by its own

Did not finish book. Stopped at 66%.
what a disappointment. awful, navel-gazey prose from a rich woman complaining about her life using eighth grade level science and mind numbingly simple 'philosophy'. i skipped so many pages, but i read around half probably and it never got better
