Wonderful book! I wish there were more books like this, with the stakes a little lower, but wonderful characters to live with in a neat world for some pages!

This is one of those awkward books, for me. It just sort of went along. I think I had a difficult time getting into the characters, and the plot didn't propel me. And then… as things start coming together, the book just… ended. I didn't really feel like there was something resolved there. I normally like The Guild Codex universe, so perhaps it's just my usual impatience with setup (which leads me to rate issue #1 of any comic lower than the rest of the series, as an unrelated example). It does feel like there's a story there that I'm interested in, so I'll definitely read the next book, but I was disappointed with how this book just seemed to end.
