This book entered at a time in my life that was crucial to my development as an adult and I appreciate what it did for me. As far a literary geniuses go, I wouldn’t suggest this to anyone who has a good sense of self and is above the age of 25. I think it is perfect for a young women combatting the woes of adulthood alone, or what may feel like alone.

This book gets a bad rap but I love the imagery this book provides. This book displays both the glamour of old and new money in the 20’s, and the darkness that is needed to maintain such a glamorous life. For most of us we will never experience the level of riches many of the characters possess within this book, but I do believe this book gives us good reason not to want to experience them in some aspects. I fell in love with this book in high school and it will forever be one of my favorites! It is always worth a read and dissection.
