2.5. Disappointing after the first book. The beginning dragged and the ending was rushed. Also the main character was extremely unlikeable. However, the world is interesting and frightening.

I enjoyed the setting of this book but overall it was just very predictable.

The ending was rushed, the killer was random and the motive was weak to do everything they did. It just didn’t make sense. Vanessa was a wreck to say the least.

It was fun but forgettable.

I was loving the gothic vibes and the writing was stunning but it took a while to really get going. The second half of this really saved it.

Macbeth is a story I am familiar with so I liked the take on this overall. I would say it’s Macbeth with a feminist spin. Which I’m here for.

Ava Reid is proving to be one of favourite authors!
