Super cute, not at all what I expected, and not in a bad way. The romantic tension was great. I loved Dot’s quirkiness and her cats. Her story was captivating through every twist and turn. And the epilogue was perfection.

I loved the one. It feels like a novella (I think because of the Christmas theme) but isn’t short or rushed like a novella. West and Maisie are adorable, and I LOVE Clyde!

I waited so long to read this because dark romance is really hit or miss for me. I was a FOOL. I ate this story up. Straight up binge read it in less than a day.
This book is 100% dark humor which is right up my alley. Super funny banter and very witty. I enjoyed Rowan and Sloane’s relationship, and seeing them work through their inner demons made them more sympathetic. But they’re still absolutely psycho. It was a really interesting juxtaposition.
The brothers are funny and I cannot wait to read their stories.
All of this aside, it is in fact a dark romance about murderers. Please read the trigger warnings in advance. And yes, @brynne_weaver IS in fact serious about the🍦TW.

This was a fun read. It had a little bit of everything: witches, shifters, blood magic, political intrigue and spying, corrupt monarchs, and more. The action was fast paced. The romance developed a little quicker than I usually like (not an instalove fan) but it is also not at all unexpected with this genre and specific tropes. It also didn’t lower my opinion of the story overall because, again, it made sense in the storyline. I found the different aspects and levels of blood magic to be very intriguing. Overall I think it was a good book, and I’m curious to know if the epilogue will lead to another book or wrap the conclusion up neatly. I could see it being able to go either way.
Thank you Nerd Fam and Emma Elizabeth for this ARC opportunity!

Very cute and quick. Definitely has some of those “cheesy romance” moments but I liked it. It is fun to have a modern Scottish romance, and paranormal to boot. I love that it’ll be interconnected standalones too.

This is why you don’t drink and do seances. Jordyn never got closure when her ex-girlfriend died shortly after they broke up. Feeling lonely and drinking too much wine leads to  summoning gone wrong, and now Jordyn’s ex is stuck hanging around in ghost form.
A few shops down - in this cute ass town that I couldn’t stop picturing as the Halloween version of Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls - Harlow is moving in with her sister and helping working in the cafe. What results is an adorably haunted meet-cute. There’s a hint of mystery and some definitely quirky characters throughout the story. All in all, it is a very cozy read to get yourself into the autumn vibes. I look forward to seeing more from this series.
Thank you to Ali K. Mulford & K. Elle Morrison for the advanced copy!

Sarah A. Parker wrote a super chonky book, but it’s totally worth it because her world building is IMMACULATE. The intricacies and hidden bits and pieces thrown in through out the story are insane - in a good way. This falls more under what I would consider an epic fantasy more than what I think of as Romantasy because - to put it very simply - this story is epic. Don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely romance. The slow burn in this book brings in all the romantic tension you could want. Kaan is everything. Period. And the slow burn is definitely worth the wait once it gets burning 🔥 But this book is so much more too. The tragedy and emotional turmoil in the story is kick-you-in-the-gut strong. The mystery and all the questions Sarah makes you ask are infuriating because you just want all the answers now, and there are too many pieces fitting together to be sure of anything. The complexity of her writing made me realize how people can put 6 million tabs in a book while reading. I highlighted so many passages, and I still think I missed a TON of details. I’m already trying to decide when I can do a reread before the next book.
