picked this up on sunday & read it in one sitting. beautifully written & artfully translated, with some lines and themes feeling especially relevant right now.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
ngl i stopped reading this bc it was just unpleasant to read and i wasn't having a good time. it's well written and i know rumfitt is making a point (she's right) but i just struggled to read so many pages of intense, graphic, disgusting and sometimes violent sexual content. realised after a while that i didn't have to finish it so i put it down.

i think this would have been a more enjoyable novel if tha main character wasn't such a nonce. the mystery was pretty well written but i just hated being inside the protagonists head, it made me feel like i needed to go take a shower.
