Overall a solid book, just wasn’t my style.
It’s too fictional, the way all of the characters’ flaws come to light but get nicely wrapped into a bow at the end of the novel in the span of one or two chapters. I prefer Sally Rooney’s style of ending the book on an uncertain and ambiguous note because that’s just how life is.

Sally Rooney always has a way of putting me in the characters’ shoes. Because of this, it was hard for me to read in certain areas during times when Frances works through her intelligent yet flawed thoughts and extremely intense emotions. Of course, there was the regular dosage of pretentiousness littered throughout that prove Rooney’s cultural and philosophical knowledge, but it was nicely framed so that that had a natural role in the characters and their relationships with each other.
